Weil Aquatronics offers self-priming centrifugal pumps for sump and sewage applications. These pumps are designed to be installed above the wet well, with only a suction pipe in the liquid. After initial priming, they continue to reprime automatically. There’s never a need for service personnel to enter the sump. When service or maintenance is required, it can be completed easily with common hand tools. There are no long drive shafts to install and align, and no hoists or cranes are required. Self-priming pumps may be flex-coupled, v-belt driven or engine mounted. All are available in a variety of different materials.
The benefits of this arrangement are:
-
Ease of maintenance
-
No need to enter a wet well for maintenance or service
-
Can use standard off-the-shelf motors
-
Suitable for hazardous wet wells (explosion-proof motors not required)
-
Long service life with proper maintenance
-
Suction lifts up to 25 feet (some models)
